Richard Jacobs & Company, Inc. was established in 1979 with the purpose of helping our clients lower their printing costs. We provide the expertise of an experienced print buyer for companies that print only a few times per year and for which hiring a full-time print buyer does not make sense. We bring our knowledge of the manufacturing process along with our long-standing relationships with quality printers throughout North America. Our printers represent some of the most modern, cost effective, quality-conscious printing plants in America.
As an independent sales organization, we typically have 20-30 jobs in production at our plants at any one time. This detailed knowledge of how projects are progressing through the production process allows us to catch developing issues quickly. In effect, we give the once or twice a year customer the knowledge, information and monitoring that would be provided by a print buyer purchasing millions of dollars per year in printing services.
We represent and sell directly for our plants. This means that once your order is placed, you will deal directly with the plant for all production related issues. You will know where your job is being produced and we will introduce you to the plant’s customer service staff. Since your production issues will be addressed directly by a plant employee, turn around time for questions and production related issues is very fast. Further, upon completion of your job, you will be invoiced by and make payment directly to the plant. We believe our method protects the interests of our clients and creates a long-term relationship with the plant. A long-term relationship helps control costs and leads to high levels of customer service.
As manufacturers’ representatives, we have relationships with multiple high quality printers. Each of our printers has unique capabilities based upon their production equipment. This allows us to match your job to the plant rather than force or change your specifications to fit equipment we own. The savings from putting your job into the facility with the right equipment can be more than 20% of the production cost, without sacrificing service, quality or turn-around times.
Since we always have client jobs printing at our plants, we are immediately aware of any developing service or quality issues. Our combined volume works to our customers’ advantage in terms of pricing, scheduling, and in the slight chance of a problem, dispute resolution.
All of the printing plants we represent offer complete mailing and shipping services and all are located near a US Post Office Bulk Mailing Center, so your catalog can directly enter the mail stream.
